Gold Tone Bob Carlin Sig Ser 12" Openback Banjo
Following the success of the Bob Carlin models, the BC-350 and BC-350+, Gold Tone introduced a new brother, the BC-120. This economically priced version of the BC line has many of the features found on the costlier relative such as the 12" rim and rolled brass tone ring for increased mid-range and bass response, a fingerboard scoop to play over the neck for a deeper tone, a wider fingerboard to facilitate drop thumb, a "hot-dog" vintage-style armrest, Renaissance banjo head, and No Knot tailpiece. Other features exclusive to this model include the dual coordinator rod configuration, rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, and geared tuners. For those that want to get into a 12" banjo at the beginner price, the BC-120 is for you. The BC-120 includes a gig bag.

This Carlin model was the first to be issued; it was the result of a meeting between Bob and Gold Tone president Wayne Rogers at the 2004 IBMA Fan Fest. All of the BC-350 features and dimensions are per Mr. Carlin's specifications (arrived at after several trips by Bob to the Gold Tone plant) and include a twelve-inch three-ply maple pot with an innovative dowel-stick/coordinator rod, a rolled brass tone ring, maple neck with scooped ebony fretboard, planetary-gear tuning machines, No Knot tailpiece and "hot-dog" armrest. All metal parts are richly nickel-plated for long-wearing durability. Of course, each BC-350 is set up by skilled hands in our Florida shop. Available as left-handed model.
