Stagg EDB Electric Double Bass in Black
Are you an electric bassist looking to make the leap to upright? Look no further than the Stagg EDB Electric Upright Bass. Equally capable of being bowed or plucked, the bass is aimed squarely at the electric bassist new to the upright string bass. Further, this Stagg bass is a great backup instrument for the bassist looking for a portable, electric alternative to their full-sized double bass. With a price tag at about one third of what a double bass typically runs, the bar to entry has never been lower!
From Electric to Upright
The Stagg EDB Electric Upright Bass is a 3/4 scale instrument, meaning it has a shorter fretboard and less physical space in between each note. This will appeal to the electric bassists already used to a standard scale electric bass. With the 3/4 scale, you'll have an easier time transitioning to the feel of the upright, and it also means an increased level of portability. It ships with a gig bag, so you can open the box, tune up, and head right to your next gig or rehearsal. Constructed of solid maple, the bass has a full, deep resonance that cuts and shines to your heart's content.
1/4" Output for Amplified Gigs
Seasoned double bassists know all too well the pitfalls inherent to playing their instrument in a group context. Either you're too loud, or you're not nearly loud enough. When Stagg recognizes a problem, they seek an affordable solution, and the EDB Electric Upright Bass delivers. Thanks to its solid-body construction and integrated electronics, amplifying your upright bass is now as simple as plugging an instrument cable into its 1/4-inch output jack and feeding it into either a DI or your bass amplifier of choice. You'll be amazed when you hear the natural, woody tones the bass pumps out, and with the onboard volume and bass control, you can tweak the instrument's sound to whatever room or venue you're playing in. The state-of-the-art onboard electronics were designed specifically for upright bass, ensuring accurate and faithful reproduction of the frequency output spectrum. For you wood-shedders, Stagg has included two 1/8-inch mini-jacks on board. One lets you connect headphones for silent practice sessions, and the other lets you plug in your favorite CD or MP3 player to jam along with your favorite tunes.
